GNO!

We enjoyed a fabulous Girls Night Out yesterday as we celebrated Allison's birthday and welcomed a visitor - hopefully a new Texas Diva - to our group. We always have a blast and last night was no exception. Prior to dinner Allison met Paula P., Patty and me at Sam Moons where we shopped for all kinds of goodies. This is Cathy and she and Donna became friends in elementary school. It was a great reunion for these two who hadn't seen each other in a few years. We all enjoyed Cathy and hope she had enough fun that she wants to join our group. Welcome Cathy!
We had a smaller group since some of our Divas were unable to attend. We missed you all! There were, however, more birthday petit fours to go around.

Here's the birthday girl sporting a new crown that actually fits, thanks to Paula P. Allison got some neat gifts and some of that beautiful green cash.
It was a bad hair day for me with the wind and humidity that I was relieved to see that Donna's palsy kicked in just as she took my picture. It was too blurry to post. Thanks, Donna. I could see through the blur that I looked awful.
Happy birthday, Allison, and we look forward to another GNO in June to honor Paula P. on her birthday. These Divas rock!

Mother's Day in Pictures

The mothers we honored, from left to right: Allison, Jan, Mother, Cindy, Yours Truly, and Shelley.
Just had to share a picture of my Mother laughing. She needed the laughter.

Our entertainment was none other than my own zany daughter, Allison. She found some interesting ways to use the bubble wrap in one of the gifts for my Mother. Shelley's checking out how natural they feel, while Sophia takes a glimpse of her mom's best side.

Allison strutting her stuff and receiving a roaring applause.

Striking a pose. My Mother said Allison reminds her a lot of me when I was younger. Hmm. I was wondering which side of the family she took after.

Donna and I happily skipped work Monday and stayed over with Mother on Sunday night. We took both our Moms - Mother and our adopted Mom, Betty - to lunch in honor of Betty's 80th birthday, which is today.
Kicking back for a wonderful visit at Betty's lovely home in the woods. What a spectacular view!

Betty and I at lunch. Okay, I'll be the first to ask. Which one is 80? Isn't she lovely?

Aren't these two ladies beautiful? We had so much fun with our waiter who had a great sense of humor. But the best part was the four of us spending a glorious day together. We must do this again soon.

Happy Birthday Allison & Brian!

This dynamic duo is having another birthday. And not only do they have to share the same one, but this year they have to share it with Mother's Day. I'm sure they will find a special way to celebrate on their own. I will see to it.

I'd like to toast Brian on his birthday for being a good son-in-law who wades through my tax return each year, is a great Daddy to three of my grandchildren, and is married to one of my pride and joys. We have always been happy to have you in our wacky family. You fit right in. Sorry.

And to my gorgeous daughter, Allison, I wish you the happiest of birthdays and a wonderful Mother's Day. I think it's appropriate to combine these two occasions on one big day since you are an awesome daughter and an equally awesome Mommy to the above mentioned grandchildren. You have performed both roles to perfection. If there was an Academy Award in these categories, your name would be on it.

Happy birthday, Allison and Brian. I hope you enjoy the little extra I've done for you on this special day. It's with all my love and adoration.

Shoes: Lost and Found

We kept Baylee and Sophia yesterday while Allison took Jude in for his 7-year checkup. When it came time for them to go home we couldn't find Sophia's shoes. We searched everywhere. I even looked in my closet since we had been in there to see Parker who hides when kids come over. No shoes.

Sophia went home in her cute bare feet. I knew the shoes would show up and I could get them to her later. Robin found them first, but he wouldn't tell me where they were. He just assured me that I'd find them soon enough.
I did. I went to my closet again to put my shoes away and there were Sophia's shoes lined up with mine. Not in the middle of the floor where I expected to see them if she had removed them when looking for Parker. I just melted seeing those tiny shoes aligned with mine. I hope I do have big shoes to fill.

Also, as they were leaving Sophia soiled her diaper and didn't want anyone but "Ma" (short for Memaw) to change her. Does that make me her favorite or least favorite? It's hard to tell.
