July Divas - Mega Birthdays!

The Texas Divas enjoyed another fabulous evening as we celebrated the birthdays of lovely divas Donna, Darlene, and Trish. Jeanne was missing due to work-related issues and we had hoped to honor her since she was out of the country on her June birthday. We look forward to seeing her in August.

Trish and Donna look regal in their birthday tiaras. Every woman deserves to wear a crown, if only for a few minutes, once a year.

The photo I took of Darlene in her tiara didn't turn out so we will settle for this one even though our sweet Paula wasn't being so sweet. And speaking of Paula - and speaking of sweet - she made another mouth-watering dessert for the July birthdays. We were treated to pineapple upside down cake and it was delicious! I don't know how this lady makes such wonderful desserts that not only taste heavenly, but look like a picture out of a magazine. She's ours. You can't have her.

A big Texas Diva welcome to Jacque, a friend of Cathy's, who visited with us and fit right in. We hope she will join our group, although Cathy warned her that the hazing can be rather cruel. One of the many things I love about our Texas Divas is that we joyfully accept new friends. Everyone who has visited us became one of us within seconds. What a beautiful group of women! I sincerely hope that Jacque will want to make the Texas Divas a regular habit. Welcome!

There were gifts galore, so many that we couldn't keep up with what each one received. My desire is to have our dinner in a quiet private home where we can all visit easily. We're growing in numbers, which is great, but we can't socialize with everyone at the table. I miss that. Perhaps we can play "musical chairs" at our next outing and visit with everyone. What a special bunch of ladies! I love you all!

Slumming It

Oh, what fun the three of us had last night as we took a limo to dinner and Michael Buble concert! My concert pictures didn't turn out but I'm sure Allison will use my blog to upload some of her better ones of our evening. We laughed so hard at each other and especially Allison, who is a show all by herself.

Our limo arrives and we gracefully stepped in like we knew what we were doing. Our driver was so nice and polite and very accommodating.

I'm sure this is the first time a limo has pulled up in front of my house and that is just wrong.

Beautiful Allison looked right at home inside the limo. Her blue silk blouse brought out the gorgeous blue of her eyes. Beauty and fun in one delightful package.

Can we have a show of pinky fingers, please? We lived it up, thank you very much. How relaxing it was to be dropped off in front and not have to fight traffic. I wish we could have filled the limo. There was plenty of room for more friends and family. Actually, Allison's children couldn't understand why they couldn't be driven around in the limo while we were at dinner. Life can be so unfair.

Thank you, Patty, for allowing us to slum it for one special night.

Happy Birthday, Donna!

My beautiful baby sister is celebrating a birthday today. How incredibly blessed I am that not only did God give me a sister, but He gave me the one I have. She has been my best friend, my confidante, and my shoulder to cry on. I can't imagine my life without her. She's as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

On your birthday, Sissy, I want to thank you for being so generous with me - you spoil me with all those little gifts, for being the best aunt my kids could ask for and being so involved in their lives, for the great sister you have always been to me, and for sharing your gorgeous self, your lovely smile, your knee-slapping wit with me all these years. I've always loved you and that love grows only stronger with each passing year. Have a very happy birthday, Sissy!

Happy Birthday, Juliet!

Pretty little Juliet is celebrating her 5th birthday today! I know she will be treated royally on this special occasion. That's a must since she likes anything having to do with a princess. This girl is all girl! When we're together she enjoys going through my collection of perfumes, and is excited to show me the variety of princess dresses hanging in her closet. Don't think we're ever going to find a Tom Boy here. Pink, or rosa, is her favorite color too.

Here's Juliet wearing one of her princess gowns last Christmas when she spent the night with me. We also enjoyed a tea party.

She's such a dainty, polite little lady and she has captured my heart big time. Have a very wonderful birthday, Juliet. I wish I could spend the day with you but always remember how much I love you!

Happy Birthday, Camryn!

My beautiful granddaughter, Camryn, is 17 today! She's getting ready to enter her senior year in high school and definitely growing up too fast. We have a birthday dinner and shopping date planned for the weekend. Also, she wants to have a sleepover and I told her I was ready and still remember how to be a giggly teenager. We should have a blast!

Camryn, on this birthday I want to remind you again how special you are to me. I admire you so much - your good grades, holding down a job, your sweet character, and the positive, mature stand you have taken on certain subjects. I love you and I'm proud to call you my granddaughter.
